The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators is a worldwide professional organisation that promotes alternative dispute resolution (ADR), thus avoiding necessity to resort to the courts. The Ireland Branch with over 700 members, across the 32 counties and both legal jurisdictions, was formed in 1981. From modest beginnings the Ireland Branch of Ciarb has become the preeminent organisation in the promotion of dispute avoidance and the expedient resolution of conflict.
Peter is, and continues to be, actively involved in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) in both Ireland and the UK. Peter is a member of the Approved Faculty List (AFL) for the institute, where he is an accredited lecturer and examiner. Within the Ireland branch, Peter has been a member of several Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) including the Archive SIG, the Education and Training SIG, together with the Adjudication SIG. Peter has served as Vice-Chair, Chair and is currently the immediate past Chair of the committee.
